Vans Continues To Recraft Their Icons With The ASCII Inspired Sk8 Hi

With much of the label’s operations leaning towards the wild side of the spectrum — adhering to this deconstructive aesthetic popularized throughout much of 2018 — the Anaheim-based label is now ushering in quite another inspired recreation. The VANSCII SK8 Hi takes notes from the media of Y2K as well as the ASCII programming language, exhibiting iconography and graphic plays that touch on the technology-paranoid era. While an hourglass embroidery sits planted on both the medial and lateral, an underlying set of multiplied Jazz Stripes hint at computer system malfunctions. Grid patterns as well as the hits of blue and green further push this 90s-focused motif while an additionally plastered piece of foxing connects the pair to previous releases. If you’re interested in grabbing a pair of these, expect to find them available on Vans.com for a price point $75 USD.
