Since its inception in 1991, the Nike Huarache has become one of the Swoosh Brand’s most popular lifestyle silhouettes — loved the world over for its reasonable price point, classic style, and exemplary comfort. Although the OG silhouette has achieved timeless status, Nike’s design team has never been to rest on their laurels. They’ve tweaked and modified the Huarache several times in the last two decades-plus, and their newest effort is the Huarache E.D.G.E, a stripped-down take on the classic runner that boasts a color combo similar to another memorable Tinker Hatfield creation: the Hyperadapt 1.0.
The E.D.G.E features the same slip-on neoprene bootie that’s become synonymous with the Huarache line, but that’s where the similarities to the OG end. The upper features a bold mesh toebox, and a heavily overlapped midfoot with a unique lacing system colliding with abstract-shaped leather panels. A large plastic heel piece offers a further touch of interesting style, the insole offers a bold branded graphic, and the lightweight, cored-out outsole features a “T.I.N.F.L” hit towards the toe, an abbreviation for “There Is No Finish Line.” If you like this mix of old and new, Hyperadapt and Huarache, you can expect a release on Nike SNKRS November 29th for $110 USD.
