Needles And Vans Vault Present Three Luxurious Velvet-heavy Colorways

Helmed by Keizo Shimizu, the Nepenthes umbrella has grown rapidly to encompass notable labels like Engineered Garments, AiE, South2West8, and many others. Imbuing a characteristic Japanese craftsmanship in their designs, each label has presented their own unique interpretation of popular fashion subcultures. It has surely been a busy year for the umbrella and its cohorts — with Daiki Suzuki’s EG gearing up to release their UltraBOOST and Hoka One One silhouette — so Needles’ upcoming collaborative capsule with Vans has been a long time coming. Using the Vans Vault Slip-Ons as their base for transformation, Needles has given the shoe a smart metallic detailing that calls back to the iconic horse bit loafer. In its three colorways of black, green, and purple, the entire upper is embellished with a textural velvet placed on top of a blacked out midsole. You will be able to pick these up for an approximate retail of $115 USD at Haven and Nepenthes stores on October 13th.
