Kevin Durant is known for two things: his smooth, seemingly effortless play on the court and his spicy comebacks off of it. The 2014 league MVP and two-time Finals MVP has demonstrated a propensity for clapping back at his haters via his social media accounts, and now the Swoosh is paying homage to Durant’s clever comebacks with a new “Emoji” colorway of the Nike KD 11. Premiered by Durant himself on Instagram and created for Nike’s Academy 2018 basketball camp/combine, the shoes feature a trifecta of different orange Flyknit colors—interwoven with black on the tongue, medium orange on the midfoot, and a light orange around the heel collar—while a bright stripe of teal on the very top of the collar provides a summer-ready contrast. The large black heel piece also features orange detailing, as four of the Slim Reaper’s favorite emojis are displayed proudly on the medial side. Teal KD logos and small orange swooshes on the shoe’s lateral side complete the branding, and the translucent midsole/outsole’s combo of Zoom Air and React foam ensure maximum performance. A release date for the Durantula’s newest shoes has not yet been announced, but keep it locked to our Sneaker Release Dates page for all your KD drop info and enjoy a look at the new colorway below while you wait.
