NikeCourt Reveals A New Tennis Shoe For The US Open

NikeCourt Reveals A New Tennis Shoe For The US Open

After Wimbledon, the US Open is arguably the most popular tennis tournament in the world, as the game’s top stars from all around the globe gather in Flushing, New York to make a claim at the world’s number one ranking. While Wimbledon has more traditions, a longer history, and more global recognition, a strict dress code that causes its athletes to wear white has limited player’s ability to express themselves through sneakers and apparel. With that in mind, players have used the US Open as a soapbox to debut new footwear, the likes of a black and blue colored Air Tech Challenge 2, and Roger Federer’s Zoom Vapor Tour AJ3.

Now, in the tournament’s 50th year that is set to run from August 27th-September 9th, NikeCourt has plans to debut a brand new Air Zoom Zero colorway with the help of budding tennis superstar, Sloane Stephens. Utilizing aesthetic inspiration from the sport’s hallowed past, this technologically advanced sneaker will give the wearer a competitive edge in the most grueling of three or five-set matches. Muted orange tones are at the forefront of the entire collection, meant to be a contemporary play on styles that were worn at the inaugural tournament in Forest Hill in 1968. Grab a detailed look at the newest NikeCourt offering below and look forward to its arrival – alongside a full apparel line – on Nike.com starting August 13th.
