Nike’s penchant for adding Vapormax soles to classic Air Max uppers—creating silhouettes that are at once evocative of the 90s and innovative in the most modern of fashions continues—as after fusion takes on both the Air Max Plus and the Air Max 97 the Swoosh has now added a Vapormax sole to the Air Max 95. Recently premiered in the much-loved OG “Neon” colorway by Air Max 97/1 creator and vintage kingpin Sean Wotherspoon, the shoes keep the classic anatomy-inspired upper intact, while swapping out the chunky midsole for a sleek Vapormax iteration. The combination of bulky and streamlined make for an interesting contrast not seen on past fusion models like the Vapormax Plus and Vapormax 97, two other recent Air Max hybrids that feature a more sleek look from top to bottom. Enjoy your first look at the new shoes here, and stay tuned to our Sneaker Release Dates page for info and updates on the release of the new silhouette.
Update: the Vapormax 95 “Neon” will release on August 16th.
