Legendary designer Tinker Hatfield‘s original concept sketches of classic Air Jordan models have been enjoying a long moment in the spotlight this year. After his swoosh-adorned first take on the Air Jordan 3 released in March and a brand-new Air Jordan 6 colorway inspired by his refined doodles was recently revealed, we now have a look at the masterful creator’s very first take on the Air Jordan 13. The shoe’s dimpled upper and paw-inspired outsole remain mostly intact, but that’s where the similarities end; this earlier vision swaps out the classic AJ13 high top and circular heel piece for a three-quarters cut, a rather surprising mid-foot strap, and a triangular jewel heel piece. For a finishing touch, jade accents arrive on the midsole, the strap, and the jewel heel piece. This physical manifestation of a “what if” concept is set to release sometime this fall, so be sure to keep it locked to our Jordan Release Dates page for any and all info/updates.
