Before the start of the World Cup Final, Cristiano Ronaldo took a page out of Alex Rodriguez’s book – who signed a blockbuster deal with the Yankees on the eve of Game 4 of the World Series between the Red sox and the Rockies – by announcing his transfer to Italian soccer powerhouse, Juventus. Now, the world’s most popular footballer is in on tour with Nike in China to give back to his fans that don’t get to see him play every year. While there, Ronaldo and the Swoosh are releasing a special “CR7” version of the new EXP-X14 silhouette via a special SNKRS Shock Drop for a limited number of lucky fans.
Equipped with a luxe premium aesthetic, it sports a regal combination of red, white, and gold, with CR7 branding and an abstract Chinese dragon pattern on the top layer of its upper. Other details include a matching dragon dipped in gold on its outsole, red aglets and lace loops, and a silver and gold medallion on its lateral side. Nike and Ronaldo are no stranger to collaborative sneaker creations, as they recently teamed up on a new-look React-infused runner, as well as numerous Air Max 97s in the past. Enjoy a detailed set of images for the Nike EXP-X14 “CR7” below and stay tuned for any updates regarding a potential release outside of China.
