Dutch artist Piet Parra is no stranger to collaboration. He’s worked with Nike twice before, first on 2005’s Air Max 1 “Amsterdam” and again on the iconic shoe in 2010 in a three-party collaboration also including Patta for the “Cherrywood” Air Max 1s, widely regarded as one of the best AM1 collaborations of all time. Now he’s linking up with the Swoosh for a third time on a small capsule collection consisting of an Air Max 1, a track jacket and a brand new Zoom Spiridon, his first collaboration on a non-Air Max silhouette.
The new Spiridon features the same whimsical mash-up of striped and dotted patterns as the rest of the collaboration boldly featured on the shoe’s mudguard, while a clean white mesh makes up the remainder of the upper. A trifecta of Swooshes—small white on the forefoot, large metallic blue on the midfoot, and small red on the tongue—provide branding, and multiple lines of reflective detailing swooping across the upper provide extra contrast and visibility. The shoe is completed with a white midsole, bright aqua blue outsole, candy-cane style lace tips, and patterned insoles for a final pop of flair. For a little extra collaborative goodness, the shoe also comes with a co-branded dustbag. Look for these colorful summertime Spiridons to arrive on Nike.com July 21st with a retail price of $140 USD.
