Fashion Week continues its reputation as a storied battleground for footwear as the week-long showcase of succulent menswear threads takes its talents to Paris. We’ve already seen some incredible sneakers make their way from the pavement to Instagram feeds, and so far one of the best shoes we’ve spotted is this awesome Air Force 1 custom created by the globally renowned footwear architect Studio Hagel. Designed specifically for Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami, this modified Nike classic features a zig-zag embroidered thread in a neon yellow and the Murakami’s signature “Flower Power” artwork on an upper shroud that tightens via an elastic rope band at the heel. While a collaboration between Nike and the famed artist has yet to occur on the sneaker front, this custom serves as a clear “what if” if the two culturally influential names ever decided to join forces. See an additional shot of the shoes below.
