With every Supreme season comes a Nike collaboration, and with every Supreme/Nike collaboration comes a great deal of anticipation from sneakerheads and Supreme fanatics alike. The New York-based brand’s propensity for diving into the Swoosh’s archives for well-known heritage silhouettes like the Air Force 1, Air Max 98, or even the Air Jordan 5 is well-known. However they’ve acknowledged many a cult-favorite silhouette like last season’s chunky Terra Humara as well, and for their S/S ’18 offering they’ve opted for another shoe that falls on the more mysterious side of the spectrum: the Nike Zoom Streak Spectrum Plus.
The lightweight heritage runner—originally released in the early 00s—is known for its bold and colorful flame graphic on the toe and midfoot/retro Zoom branding on the midsole. Supreme has left almost all of the shoe’s original detailing intact on their collaborative iteration, opting only to swap out the original Chinese characters on the heel and tongue for their own branding. Leather/suede overlays and co-branded insoles complete with a flame graphic complete the shoe’s retro look. Arriving in both an OG white/red and a black/green, both coloways of the Supreme x Nike Zoom Spectrum Plus are set to release on Supreme’s webstore this Thursday, June 14th at 10am ET and retail for $160, with a potential Nike.com release to follow.
