The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Fo Fi Fo” Is Inspired By Moses Malone’s Playoff Prediction

Following a 1982 NBA Finals loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Philadelphia 76ers added controversial yet dominant superstar Moses Malone to bolster their chances of going over the the top. Not one to lack confidence, Malone predicted that the Sixers would run roughshod through the NBA playoffs, sweeping all of their playoff series in “fo’, fo’ fo'”. While that prediction didn’t come full circle, it sure was close as Philly took the Knicks down in fo’ games, the Bucks in five, and the Lakers in fo’, led by Malone’s 24-point and 23-rebound showing in the series-clinching game.

In honor of this incredible achievement, Nike has created an Air Force 1 Low dubbed the “Fo,Fi,Fo” which reflects his updated prediction. Moses was one of the “original six” to wear the Air Force 1 Low on court, so a pair dressed in Philly red and white makes all the sense in the world. Releasing as part of the “Art Of A Champion” collection, its dubrae reads 1983, and it boasts NBA Finals logos on its insoles. Pairs of the AF1 Low “Fo’ Fi’, Fo'” will arrive at Nike Sportswear retailers on May 19th with an MSRP of $130 USD.
