Kanye West Claims To Be Highest Paid Person In Footwear, More So Than Michael Jordan

The gems from Kanye West’s Twitter rants have reached new heights with his latest claim of being the highest paid person in the footwear industry. Earlier this morning, he tweeted that he is currently the single highest paid person in footwear, earning more money on shoes than Michael Jordan does. MJ, who is majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets and still holds several endorsement deals, earns at least $100 million per year in royalties from Jordan Brand. As of last June, he $110 million haul was more than triple that of the next highest paid athlete, which is LeBron James. While the numbers behind Kanye West’s thriving YEEZY business aren’t known, there is absolutely no chance that YEEZY is earning him a $100 million+ check per year simply because they don’t put enough shoes in production to earn that type of margin.

His second claim of YEEZY earning $1 billion in revenue may suggest that he plans on putting out more product, but there’s a huge gap to fill considering adidas YEEZY footwear releases about a dozen times in one calendar year, and his standalone YEEZY product doesn’t quite move off the shelves as quickly. Finally, Kanye reveals that he no longer has a manager, which suggests that he has fired Kris Jenner.
