2018 is shaping up to be the year of the dad sneaker, and Puma, typically known for their sleek and sophisticated designs, is throwing their hat in the ring with two new colors of the Thunder Electric, their newest take on chunky footwear inspired by details from their McQ Tech Runner Low, designed by the late Alexander McQueen. The shoes feature an oversize midsole, similar to the popular Balenciaga Triple S, and multiple panels of mesh and leather on the upper for the layered look any good dad shoe has to have. The first colorway features a clean grey/white colorway with a pop of blue on the heel and the signature Puma stripe in a bright metallic silver. The second colorway offers a more whimsical look with several different shades of grey on the upper, a tan midsole and gum outsole, and a bright pop of color arriving via the candy purple stripe on the side. There’s no official release date or pricing information for this new Puma silhouette, but expect them to drop on Puma.com soon.
