With all the buzz around Air Max, it’s easy to forget that Nike’s iconic cushioning technology was originally introduced for performance wear, not just lifestyle purposes. Boston’s Concepts kept this in mind when celebrating Air Max Day and made sure to pay their respects to both Air Max audiences with their Air Max Night event, where runners and sneaker collectors came together in celebration. Starting at NikeTown in Boston, over a hundred runners made the trek to Concepts Cambridge location, where they met up with the winners of the Sean Wotherspoon 97/1 raffle who were lined up to purchase their shoes. Participants of both the run and the campout were then allowed access to the Concepts VIP lounge, where influencers in Boston’s running and sneaker world discussed the past, present, and future of Air Max. Check out the video and photos below for a recap of the unique celebration. In other Concepts and Air Max Day news, the boutique also worked with noted sneaker customizer Mache on a 1-off “Eclipse” pair of SW 97/1’s for Air Max Day.
