Nike SB Finally Collaborates With Skate Brand Antihero

Nike SB is finally teaming up with world renowned skate brand, Antihero, to create a two-piece footwear collection designed by three of the Swoosh brand’s top skate athletes. In fact, Brian Anderson, Grant Taylor, and Daan van der Linden all skate both for Antihero and Nike SB, so getting them to work on the project was a seamless transition. Anderson having previously worked with Nike on sneaker designs led to him being the de facto art director with consultation from Taylor.

“When Brian became a part of the design process, knowing all the projects that he had done in the past and his capacity to manage things from a creative point of view, the project really got going when he came to campus,” Jesse Leyva, Senior Creative Director for Nike SB said.

Highlighted by a Nike SB Zoom Dunk High Pro and Nike SB Zoom Blazer Low, the capsule is made up of elements that Antihero does not normally produce, footwear and cut-and-sew apparel. The numbers “1” and “8” play a major roll in this collection, as they are representative of the letters “A” and “H” in their alphabet positioning – for Antihero. On the Dunk High, Anderson’s initials are embroidered on the left heel, while Taylor’s “GH” can be found on the same side of the Blazer. The Antihero x Nike SB collection arrives March 16 at select retailers, followed by a March 19 launch on Nike.com.
