Michael Jordan’s Game-Worn Converse Shoes From 1982 Are Up For Auction

A pair of Michael Jordan’s game-worn Converse sneakers from North Carolina’s 1982 National Championship season are currently up for auction at lelands.com. At the moment, there is one $15,000 USD bid on the listing that is scheduled to end in just under 23 days. Expect this price to continue going up, as back in November a game-worn pair of Air Jordan 1s from 1986 with a slight modification due to MJ’s foot injury sold for $55,000 USD. While this particular pair was not worn during the Championship game where MJ sunk the game winning shot with 17 seconds left that propelled the Tar Heels to a 63-62 victory over Georgetown, they do come signed with “1982 NCAA Championship” written in Jordan’s handwriting on each midfoot.

By all accounts, it is being reported that these will be the earliest of Jordan’s shoes to ever hit the open market, and have had three previous owners since they belonged to MJ in ’82. The only non-original element of this pair, is the laces, as the consignor stated that the original laces were falling apart. Any Michael Jordan fanatic who is interested in owning a piece of history can head over to Lelands.com now and set the highest bid. Grab a detailed look below and tell us if you’re placing a bid.
