Kobe Bryant And Nike Unveil The Nike Zoom Kobe 1 Protro, An Updated Retro

Nike has officially unveiled the Zoom Kobe 1 Protro, an updated Retro that features the same aesthetic vision of the original, but with Nike’s latest cushioning options. The term “Protro”, which combines “performance” with “retro”, was coined by Kobe Bryant himself, who according to Nike scoffed at the idea of re-releasing his shoes without any sort of evolutionary upgrade to his shoes. The Kobe 1 Protro in the original black/yellow colorway features a modified Zoom bag set-up and overall lighter body as it removed and replaced heavier pieces that were either not needed or could improve with a weight reduction. DeMar DeRozan wore these in a game two weeks ago, which many accepted as the original pair since the shoes are visually identical to the original.

The Nike Zoom Kobe 1 Protro will release on February 17th on Nike SNKRS and Nike.com.
