Nike has taken notice of the abundant popularity of its Vapormax line and has responded by introducing alternate designs made with new materials as well as modernized lacing systems. Now, the brand is taking the original Primeknit infused silhouette and slightly altering its aesthetic makeup with the addition of a miniature Swoosh along the midfoot. This is not the first time Nike has added a smaller Swoosh to a popular silhouette, as it has frequently taken place with the Air Max 1 in the form of the “Jewel” variations. The addition of the Jewel Swoosh harkens back to its initial implementation on the Air Force 1 in 1997, so any model featuring the cult classic aesthetic brings out the nostalgia in retro Nike fans.
While this Vapormax offering may not official receive the Jewel monicker, the connection can certainly be drawn between the two. No official release information has been made available yet, but stay tuned to Sneaker News for updates.
