Adidas can add yet another feather to its increasingly full cap, as Time Magazine has named the adidas Futurecraft 4D one of the 25 best inventions of 2017. Time attributes the shoe’s place on the list, which also includes advances in the medical field, an electric car and even the newest iPhone, to the production and design behind the Futurecraft 4D. The liquid plastic outsoles of the shoe can be customized to precisely fit a runner’s foot, a process that would typically take days that adidas has trimmed to just hours. The 3-D printing process also helps fine-tune every facet of production. According to Time, the technology behind the Futurecraft 4D makes it a shoe far ahead of its time.
