Nike Sportswear has no doubt been the leader in the hybrid sneakerboot market so far, with a full line for the past few fall/winter seasons of multiple options that combine the comfort and aesthetics of a sneaker with the wet and cold weather protection of a boot. Now adidas Originals looks to be making a convincing campaign to catch up to Nike in the sneakerboot category, as they unveil the bold new AF 1.3 PK and AF 1.4 PK.
Taking elements from their vintage running models like an exaggerated version of the Dellinger webbing on the midsole and traditional Three Stripe branding on the upper, the AF series goes all modern after that, featuring a bold extra-high cut for the AF 1.3 built in Primeknit treated with a water-resistant coating. If the high-top isn’t your style, the AF 1.4 offers a more subtle low-top design of the same rugged construction.
Unveiled just this morning via the adidas Originals Instagram account, the AF 1.3 PK and AF 1.4 PK both drop on October 19th.
