Japanese sneaker magazine Shoes Master drops another bomb with their latest cover, much like their recent cover that officially debuted the Supreme x Nike Air More Uptempo. This time it’s a sneaker that wasn’t even on anybody’s radar, a special edition of the Air Jordan 1 High honoring baseball’s living legend Ichiro Suzuki. The shoe features the Seattle Mariners team colors in the Air Jordan 1’s classic two-tone color blocking, with a silhouette of Ichiro’s signature stance at the batter’s box.
It is likely that these were a sample made when Nike was heavily recruiting the Japanese star. Several other samples of Nike footwear with Ichiro’s name/number/logo exist, but none were released. This Air Jordan 1 may just be an unreleased sample, but still an amazing one nonetheless.
And ICYMI, check out a video documenting when Ichiro met Michael Jordan in 1995; the baseball star is seen wearing Carmine 6s (yes, OGs) and an Iceberg sweater!
