Yesterday we got a first look at Cam Newton and Under Armour’s first signature model, the Under Armour C1N. Under Armour flew us out to Cam’s hometown of Atlanta, Georgia for the official launch event where Cam talked about the exciting opportunity to be the rare football superstar to have their very own signature model off the gridiron. The UA C1N manages to capture Cam’s charismatic persona and electrifying athleticism through a sleek, light silhouette featuring the latest in Threadborne technology. The theme of the event was ‘Ferocity meets artistry‘ as Newton’s incredible competitive spirit is only matched by his need to be a true original.
“‘Ferocity Meets Artistry’ is a reflection of the different shades of my personality,” said Newton. “Under Armour gave me the opportunity to bring this story and creative vision to life with the C1N shoe and campaign – this is a brand that thinks differently and it’s why I’m so proud to be part of the Under Armour family.”
Cam also hosted 350 kids from local Atlanta Boys and Girls Clubs at Skyline Park for the ‘C1Nival’ – a carnival filled with games, food, music, and entertainment. Cam wanted to show how the city of Atlanta helped him become the man he is today. An exclusive performance with one of the biggest rappers out, 2 Chainz, followed in the evening at the West Side Cultural Arts Center. Check out the full recap below and stay tuned for an in-depth look at Cam’s first signature offering with Under Armour on Monday right here on Sneaker News.
