You’ve seen countless re-issues of the ASICS GEL-Lyte III and GEL-Lyte V hit the market throughout the years, but for the first time, the brand is taking it back to where the popular series of running shoes began. Introducing the first-ever retro of the GEL-Lyte, the initial model of the beloved line that originally released in 1987. As you can see, the GEL-Lyte features a more traditional running shoe design than the split-tongued GEL-Lyte III and the bootie construction of the GEL-Lyte V, but definitely looks like a precurosr to those two later models in terms of design, materials, and shape.
The GEL-Lyte retro makes its debut this summer in the original white, black, and bright orange colorway built in nylon mesh and felt with reflective accents on the toe and heel. Expect them to show up soon at select ASICS Tiger retailers.
