LaVar Bell, better known as father to UCLA guard Lonzo as well as two High Schoolers LiAngelo and LaMelo, thinks his three sons are worth a $1 billion package deal, according to Darren Rovell of ESPN. He adds that the prospective brand would not be required to pay the $1 billion up front and that he would graciously accept $100 million a year for a decade. This is a rather preposterous demand for several reasons, as it pits the Ball sons neck and neck with Michael Jordan and LeBron James; MJ earns about $100 million on royalties from his Jordan Brand, while LeBron inked a $1 billion lifetime deal.
LaVar also notes that if Nike, adidas, and Under Armour pass on his contract demand, all there sons will be signed to his “Big Baller” brand, which currently sells poorly designed…t-shirts.
The eldest Ball has maid headlines before, most notable being his “Lakers or bust” comments.
