The Air Jordan 12 had a stellar year on the retro release calendar. Not only did Jordan Brand bring back the Flu Games and French Blues, but they also managed to revamp the silhouette with OVO Drake collaborations and that extremely limited Wings offering alongside. Now Jordan Brand is returning to the model with the Jordan Trainer Prime, a brand new training model that doesn’t hide the fact that it’s inspired by the retro 1997 silhouette.
The Jordan Trainer Prime features that Flight Flex groove pattern on the outsole unit for the flexibility to move and cut in all directions while a dual-density midsole provides maximum cushioning and comfort. The upper is where things get truly interesting though, as the Air Jordan 12 inspiration shines thanks to a mesh upper with similar grooves throughout while an asymmetrical mudguard comprised of synthetic tape and fuse mimics the shape of the iconic retro. Underlying Dynamic Flywire adds lockdown support while Jumpman branding hits the heel. Even the ‘Two-3’ tongue branding returns. What do you think of the Jordan Trainer Prime’s inspiration?
