Rikki Medias founded Hav A Sole in 2014 to provide quality sneakers to homeless at at-risk kids, allowing them to choose the shoes that they wanted to wear instead of just giving away generic models. That way those in need can experience the excitement surrounding a new pair of shoes and feel like it’s not just a handout, but a deeper experience and connection. The non-profit recently surpassed over 7,000 pairs of shoes through crowdsourcing donations from across the globe on their social media accounts. Medias uses his own past as inspiration to push forward, as he knows from first-hand experience what the kindness of a stranger did for his confidence as a kid when he received a new pair of shoes from a neighbor who noticed holes in the bottom of a young Rikki’s shoes. Check out Hav A Sole’s story in the video below and connect with the non-profit here.
