It’s about time. Tinker Hatfield’s iconic Nike Air Max 1 personified Nike’s need to push forward and innovate in the running category as visible air took the sneaker world by storm in 1987. Since then, Nike Sportswear has revamped the model in a number of modern day finishes from Jacquard, Lunarlon, Fuse, and more to showcase how diverse the silhouette truly is. Now Flyknit has finally arrived on the Air Max 1 for Summer 2016. The woven upper adds a breathable option to the iconic retro as the pattern of the mudguard maintains its shape in fuse form for added support to match the traditional outsole unit. An “Oreo” colorway nods at all of the success found in the Flyknit Racer series, a “Racer Blue” adds some depth through the use of black throughout, and an “Sport Red” creation harkens back to one of the original colorways from the Air Max 1s initial rollout in 1987. What do you think of the Nike Air Max 1 Flyknit? Check out more photos below and stay tuned for a release later this summer.
