Nike’s upcoming exhibition titled The Nature of Motion for Milano Design Week 2016 showcases the abstract minds of some of their best designers, as Nike challenged their innovation team to create bold, artistic takes on the concept of natural motion. Since the inception of Nike Free, the Swoosh has wanted to find new solutions for runners who want a shoe that mimics the foot’s natural movement. What’s resulted is the Nike Free RN Flyknit featuring a new auxetic structure serving as the outsole, one that expands outwardly based on the contortion and angle of the foot. To get the creative juices flowing, these esoteric and artistic designs range from a cloud-like foam structure, the idea of running on pine needles, and more that you simply have to see to believe. NikeLab will be honoring this mindset with an exclusive release of the recently updated Nike Free RN Flyknit in honor of Milan’s dedication to sport (we’re guessing it’s the simple white and volt colorway, but we’ll keep you updated).
