Paul George faced off against Kobe Bryant for the final time last night, as the Pacers edged the Lakers in an 89-87 grudge match that saw PG-13 and the Black Mamba go head-to-head throughout the game. It was a passing of the torch of sorts, as after the game Kobe handed off his game-worn Nike Kobe 11 Elite pair to George, a player who grew up idolizing him. But was this Nike Basketball slyly hinting at the fact that Paul George is the man to get a roster spot on Nike Basketball’s signature after Kobe hangs it up for good? George is currently the face of the Nike Hyperdunk 2015 Low. The Hyperdunk series has long been a sort of “proving ground” for Nike Basketball signature athletes waiting in the wings, as Kyrie Irving and even Kobe Bryant wore Hyperdunk models before getting their name on a sig shoe. We’ll have to wait and see but in the meantime, you can stay in the know on the latest NBA Feet updates right here on Sneaker News.
