The Puma R698 was one of the premier running models the German brand brought to fruition during the mid-90s. A member of the Trinomic trio that also featured the Blaze of Glory and Disc Blaze, the outsole featured a patented cushioning system that not only looked good but created one of the more comfortable rides at the time. The R698 has since been revamped for lifestyle use by the likes of Ronnie Fieg, Frank The Butcher, Rihanna, and more. The latest in-house release sees the model transformed through the smart use of stone graphics. The toecap is reminiscent of that Nike Lunar Max 90 “Moon Landing” pair, as a photo-realistic depiction of rocks adds some depth. As for the rest of the sneaker, tonal perforated leather in either cream or black creates a luxurious display to coincide with a speckled midsole.
