The Legendary Skate Park Of Tampa Has A Nike SB Dunk Collaboration Coming

Host to one of the biggest non-commercial annual skateboarding contests, the Skate Park of Tampa has become one of the most legendary skate parks in the world throughout the years. Those familiar with the Nike SB line that don’t even skate are probably at least a little familial with SPoT, since the park has teamed up with Nike SB in the past for the special Lance Mountain-designed Dunk Low colorway celebrating their 20th anniversary of shredding in southwest Florida. Now SPoT is back with another Dunk, this time a high, with some inspiration from local heritage: Gasparilla, Tampa’s annual pirate festival in honor of the mythical Spanish pirate captain Jose Gaspar who operated in the area (according to the story). SPoT’s Instagram account just revealed a teaser shot of the Dunk High, which leaves the colorway pretty mysterious for now except for the fact that it will have a pirate skull and crossbones on the tongue. They also reveal that it will feature artwork by Sean Cliver, who you may know from his previous Nike SB Dunk designs for the “Disposable” and “Krampus” colorways. Preview the SPoT x Nike SB Dunk High “Gasparilla” today, and stay tuned for further images and release info.
