Here’s How Damian Lillard And adidas Will Celebrate Black History Month

adidas Hoops is currently in a changing of the guards. Nobody truly knows what’s going on with John Wall – whether he’ll sign a bigger deal with the three stripes even though he’s wearing Nike silhouettes on court in a sort of cold war. James Harden was a huge signing, but we haven’t gotten word on any signature plans. So that leaves Damian Lillard and his adidas D Lillard 2 as a top priority. Today we get a first look at the upcoming Black History Month plan with the adidas D Lillard 2 “BHM”. It’s definitely an interesting look, as a cracked gold foil upper adds another level of texture. The theme focuses on legendary US sprinter Jesse Owens who absolutely destroyed the field in the 1936 Berlin Olympics in front of a disgruntled Hitler. The 733 branding on the tongue is an homage to the number Owens wore en route to 4 gold medals. No word yet on a release date, although there’s some word about this special edition colorway arriving at retailers in the middle of January. More photos below.
