The time has almost come to grab the Air Jordan 8 “Aqua”. It’s been over eight years since we last saw the gorgeous lifestyle colorway of Mike’s eighth signature, and it still remains an odd outlier in the pantheon of Jordan retros. If you can remember, the Air Jordan 8 only had three original colorways that released in 1993. There was a “Home” edition inspired by Bugs Bunny, a Playoff edition, and then this ever-so-90s mockup of Aqua, Bright Concord, and Black throughout. The Air Jordan 8 occupies a strange time in the Jumpman signature category, as ongoing foot problems riddled Mike throughout much of the ’93 campaign. Nike offered to make him a special sneaker for the issue, but even then MJ knew the importance of marketing his sneakers to a younger generation and thus refused and kept rocking the dual strapped Tinker gem. The remastered process has worked wonders and definitely tops the 2007 retro thanks to a refined attention to detail and quality materials. The Aqua 8s will release at retailers November 27th for $190. If you’re trying to avoid the lines then check for this coveted retro right now on eBay.
