CrossFit Banned This Popular Nike Training Shoe

Nike Metcon 1 Banned 6

CrossFit junkies are all about Reebok footwear and apparel, but Nike’s product offering for the obsessed, cult-like practitioners of over-the-top fitness routines are as good as or perhaps better than what Reebok is offering. That said, official CrossFit events welcome those only wearing the official brand partner (and it’s been that way for a while) and they’ve flexed their overprotective attitude over that partnership in more ways that one. Athletes are forced to comply with the apparel/equipment regulations set forth by the organization, meaning that the popular Nike MetCon 1, which many notable athletes of CrossFit circles use, is entirely banned. With the manic lift and rep-fests being entirely exclusive to the Boston-based brand, the events have become Reebok pageants, but then again, where else would Reebok be relevant in the performance athletic world? To make light of the situation, Nike is dropping the MetCon 1 in a familiar “Banned” colorway originated by the Air Jordan 1, another sneaker that wasn’t allowed according to official league rulings. Get these on July 16th.
