Sergio Lozano’s groundbreaking design in the Air Max 95 reinvigorated Nike Running and opened the door to a revolutionary phase of design and performance footwear. The ’95 is, without question, a legend of the shoe game, and Lozano’s implementation of a plethora of design concepts has inspired the future of Nike’s architects and compelled them to beyond convention. To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of this game-changing shoe, Nike Sportswear designers Ben Yun and Dylan Raasch were tasked with re-inventing the Air Max 95 in two different ways.
Yun’s background in pattern engineering was a perfect fit for the all-new Air Max 95 Ultra Jacquard, which features a one-piece woven upper and lockdown support from second-generation Flywire. Raasch, the man behind the minimalist movement championed by the Roshe and Thea, developed the women’s Air Max 95 Ultra; it features the classic Air Max 95 aesthetic thanks to a compressed and trimmed down build, heel Max Air, and a reversed gradient scheme on the upper. Both new models will be available beginning on July 16th, so check out the first look below.
The Nike Air Max 95 Ultra Jacquard and Women’s Air Max 95 Ultra will be available at select Nike Sportswear retailers on July 16th.
