Sure, everyone’s talking about Yeezy Boosts right now and MVP Steph Curry put Under Armour on the map, but the don’t mistake headlines and hot releases for a closing of the gap. Both of those brands are doing what they can to inch closer and closer to the Beaverton powerhouse, but Nike’s latest quarterly earnings report affirms that the competition isn’t even close and the margin between Nike and its next competitors is only widening. The Swoosh is growing in sales in three huge markets (U.S., Europe, and China) by incredible percentages and almost every category across the board is experiencing a boost in sales. Simply put, Nike keeps winning, Kanye is so far in its rear-view mirror, and despite Under Armour’s increasing sales, the brand does more than double UA’s annual sales in a single quarter.
