Early last week a story made its way around the internet of a former ball boy that had one rare pair of Michael Jordan PEs. Dating back to the time before Mike even wore a pair of his Air Jordan 1 signature, Los Angeles Lakers ball boy Khalid Ali was hypnotized by a white and red pair of the Nike Air Ship that Jordan was wearing during warm-ups. He summoned up enough courage to break protocol and ask MJ for the pair and was rewarded after the game with the Ships complete with Jordan’s signature. Now 30 years later, Ali put them up for auction was rewarded with over $71,000. He had previously been storing the shoes in his parents’ closet. Be sure to check out the full video telling the story of how a rookie Michael Jordan unknowingly changed a ball boy’s life below.
