Russell Westbrook isn’t your conventional NBA player. From his style of play under the label of ‘point guard’ to his unique style off the court, Jordan Brand has yet to really figure out a way to fully utilize Russ. There was that short-lived high fashion collaboration with Barneys NY over the summer, and now there’s the confirmation that Westbrook will finally be getting the signature sneaker that he deserves – but it’s not exactly what you think. Russell was recently spotted championing his new lifestyle model, the Jordan Westbrook 0, in a multi-color iridescent colorway. Yes, Russell’s signature sneaker won’t be one you’ll be seeing on-court in the heat of performance tests and playoff pushes. Instead, the shoe will be one that hones in on his fashion sense for lifestyle use. The move does make sense though, as people are straying away from wearing performance models off the court in lieu of retros with a more traditional design intact. It looks like Jordan will opt for Rus to compete in flagship models like the Air Jordan 29 and beyond for the foreseeable future.
