Let’s face it, the sneaker landscape is overrun with big name brand releases, high-profile collaborations, and celebrity-endorsed styles that are otherwise pretty average. What ever happened to just taking a great shoe and accepting it face value? Maybe its a lost form that won’t return anytime soon. However, though, if times were more like they used to be, KangaROOS would undoubtedly have more clout than they currently do. Now thats not to say they don’t have a following, but it certainly should be larger than it is. With several below-the-radar yet strong collabs under their belt, they again link with Berlin sneaker retailer Overkill to transform the Coil R-1 runner. Fashioned in a plush aqua calf leather, the shoe made exclusively in Germany sits atop a Dynacoil shock absorbing sole in white for extreme comfort. Black accents strike the  branding while a purple liner sets off the aqua must right. Presented in a commerative wooden box, the Overkill x KangaROOS Coil R-1 “Abyss Flip” is, if nothing else, a great release that shouldn’t go unnoticed. Look for the release on November 1st at Overkill both in-store and online.
