June is a bit of a unique month. While the industry slows down a lot in terms of news updates and such (the Summer vacation months aren’t exactly the most “happening”), there are still some major headlines to look forward to – especially in 2014. First and foremost, there’s the NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs, the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, and the potential first look at the Kanye x adidas shoe (according to the rapper turned designer).
And so, here’s our quick list of headlines and predictions that could go down this month. It begins with a potential LeBron “Three-peat” Pack by Nike (if he wins), as well as our thoughts on the fate of the “Concord” Foamposites that are set to drop this week. Give it a read and let us know what else you think may go down in the month of June, and stay tuned to Sneaker News for updates on any and all that may come.
LeBron James and Nike Celebrate a “Three-peat”
This, of course, is contingent upon the Miami Heat winning its third straight NBA Finals. We already know Nike is going to something special if LeBron takes his third NBA title, but a “Three-peat” release would be too big to resist. Maybe a three-pair Pack with special edition colorways of all the Elite shoes?
Nike Drops a “Brazil” Quickstrike
The Beaverton brand has been going hard with its “City Pack” and Magista/Mercurial releases, but we’re still waiting for that sick Tier Zero/NRG/SP release to commemorate the world’s most celebrated sporting event known as the World Cup. If it’s in the works, expect it to come soon (and we hope it won’t be limited to Rio).
The Nike KD 7 is Officially Unveiled
Nike has plans to launch the KD 7 at another special unveiling event, and Sneaker News will be there, as usual, to give you the best coverage on the matter.
Nike Air Tech Challenge II “Grand Slam” Pack – Part 2
Yes, another set of Grand Slam-inspired Air Tech Challenge IIs is in the works. A “Wimbledon” colorway in a White/Jade Green-Gorge Green colorway (style code 621358-133) is releasing in Europe on June 21st.
A first look at the Kanye West x adidas
We know you’re tired of hearing about this topic, but Kanye himself said June would be the month that his first designs would get revealed. Not that we should remind you, but a reveal will certainly be one of the biggest topics of the month.
Nike Sportswear’s flagship store 21 Mercer celebrates in a big way
21 Mercer is set to re-open on June 11th. Shouldn’t we expect some exclusive releases and goodies?
Nike Air Foamposite One “Concord” Sits On Shelves at $230
Combined with a raised retail price and the general cooling of the Foamposite hot factor, the upcoming “Concord” colorway maybe available at retail or markdown far after the June 28th release.
