Will Nike Ever Release the “Red October” Yeezy 2?

Red Yeezy 2 Cancelled

After the sudden news of a release of the Red October Yeezy 2 this Friday, Foot Locker quickly recanted their statement and tentatively cancelled the release faster than you could bellow “You ain’t got the answers, Sway!” into a microphone. Unless the nationwide chain retailer – the only sneaker store that ever put out any sort of release info for the controversial kicks – pulls another fast one and decides to release them on the December 27th date it originally established, it doesn’t seem like Red Octobers in 2013 are a reality.

What was once the most anticipated release of the year has now become a “just get it over with” scenario, and as Nike continues to wait while Kanye continues to air out his Swoosh-related business on the radio, we’re left to wonder if Nike will choose to scrap it as a whole and do its best to pretend the shoes never existed. However, there are still the lucky few who won free pairs through Kanye’s giveaway, and with fine print reading the shoes won’t arrive until January 2014 the earliest, Nike may just wait until those freebie pairs start making their way out in an effort to minimize the Red October headlines. Kanye-designed sneakers are 100% happening in 2014, however, whether it be the Yeezy or the Yeezi (or whatever name the hip-hop turned designer and adidas has formulated). Your thoughts? Chime in below.
