With a wider variety of heritage models available than ever before, Nike Sportswear has dialed back their faux-retro offerings that peaked in the early ’10s. That’s not to say they’re done with new styles built from old school aesthetics altogether, and with good reason, as this model pictured above does a great job of capturing late 1980s basketball. The Nike Son of Force Mid (which is really more of a hightop) hearkens back to that era with lines familiar to those who’ve been following Swoosh hoop shoes for a while, and interestingly enough, they reach back even further than the Force vs. Flight days to bring in a sole lifted straight from the Vandal. This white/black edition reminds us of a day before every shoe came in a rainbow of colorways, and you can see more photos after the jump while we wait to learn when these will hit US NSW stores.
