Last night saw Kobe Bryant breaking out a previously unseen version of his Nike Kobe 8 Elite silhouette, one with a distinct “Lakers” palette. It felt like it was only a matter of time before his Elite line for this year was diversified just a little bit, given how the likes of LeBron James and Kevin Durant have previewed plenty more pairs than the baseline gold looks. Of course the night that this new style debuted was soured by a Kobe injury, one that may or may not signify the beginning of a new era for the Lakers’ golden boy.
