The peak of hikers and boots came in the early-mid 1990’s during the era of mini-brand specialty lines focused on outdoor activity. Reebok came forward with the DRT2 line focusing solely on pure functionality with its ruggedly build outsoles and sturdy uppers, but back then, hiker boots in general had a bit of an antisocial presence among streetwear. Simply put, hiking boots weren’t a hot item for people looking to trek concrete instead of boulders, but this teaser of the upcoming releases of the DRT 2 shows that while the formula remains, the script has been altered a bit to fit the demand while expressing the energetic vibes of outdoor sports athletes.
