NIKE AIR PENNY WEEK

We finished last week with a stretch of ’90s Basketball Classics, so why not keep it in the family? It was a dream for Knicks fans to welcome Penny Hardaway to the revered NYC backcourt, only the timing of his arrival wasn’t exactly optimal. While the era of Penny Hardaway as a Knickerbocker is one most NY fans tend to forget, what should never be forgotten is perhaps one of the best Air Penny sneakers of all-time the Air Max Penny 1 in the ‘Knicks’ colorway. Arriving in stores in May of 2005 alongside a slew of other Air Max Penny 1 colorways, this ‘Knicks’ version was a simple upgrade of the original ‘Orlando Magic’ colorway, adding a Royal Blue inner bootie and Orange trim on the Max Air unit and other surrounding details. Nike Basketball never had a problem using Penny’s team colors with his kicks, and you’ll definitely catch wind of that later this week when we focus on more Air Penny releases for this week of Classics Revisited!
