In 2011, Matt Stevens created the MAX100 Book Project – a high-end book that contained one-hundred different interpretations of the Air Max 1. Each of the 100 designs were astoundingly distinguished, using an interesting collection of inspirations like the speedy yellow and black of a New York City taxicab and the marbled red and white of a rib-eye steak. The first MAX100 design came to life when Matt collaborated with Afew in late 2011 for a limited edition release that featured the MAX100 wallpaper insole, but in September, ten of these amazing designs will come to life in a unique charity-driven auction in conjunction with Social Status. Each of the ten selected designs will be composed via the Nike iD program and feature its own distinct custom insole, and will be accompanied by a signed copy of the MAX100 book. A custom wooden box with laser engravings and metal plates signifying the true ‘1-of-1’ nature and the name of the design will house these amazing productions as well. The proceeds from these auctions will benefit local charities in the Charleston, NC area, where Social Status is situated. Stay with Sneaker News for more updates on this exciting collaboration and take a look at the ten selected designs below!
