It’s not often the high-end likes of Prada makes its way onto a Sneaker News headline, but their collection of bubble-cushioned classy footwear called the Prada Levitate definitely has some cross-over appeal. From the midsole down, you’ll notice that what gives this series the ‘Levitate’ name is the transparent construction that without question looks something right out of Nike’s playbook, but with prices starting at $660 (expected from a label of Prada’s reputation), the target demographic might be above the ‘sneakerhead’ threshold. The uppers, however, don’t stray from classic shoe designs as you’ll see popular icons like the Wingtip, Penny Loafer, Plain Toe Oxford, and Chelsea Boot, but again, you can’t help but feel like this ‘sport’ design has been done before – namely Cole Haan’s breakthrough ‘Lunar’ series. Is this just the next step of infusing ‘classy’ white-collar builds into streetwear? Check out all the models and colorways below and head to Nordstrom to pick up your own pair of Levitates.
