If you’re familiar with Frank the Butcher‘s sneaker output through his various Boston-based ventures then you’re familiar with the patriotic theme that often runs through them. His New Balance projects in particular have frequently embraced the American heritage of the brand, from the ‘Freedom Trail’ collection to the more modern New Balance 999 ‘Kennedy’. What we’re looking at here is a set of awesome samples from a three pair set of the New Balance 1600 ‘Liberty, Justice & Freedom’ pack, a project Frank was working on to be released through The Boylston Trading Company. The trio was to be dropped ceremoniously on July 4th, with the ‘Freedom’ among them being a strict friends and family affair. Unfortunately the project was eventually cut short due to some unnamed politics and red tape and won’t be hitting shelves after all. Click through to check out the amazing The Boylston Trading Company x New Balance 1600 “Liberty, Justice & Freedom” samples and partake in a moment of silence with us for what could have been.
