Hirofumi Kiyonaga’s Uniform Experiment partnership with Hiroshi Fujiwara is a name that stands out compared to most US fashion concerns, but when viewed in the context of their latest effort, its most literal meaning suddenly makes total sense.  The SOPH. and fragment design founders created this project to literally tinker with the concepts that make up participatory clothing, even going so far as to fabricate a fictitious football club in 1999 as a vehicle for their creations.  FC Real Bristol reminds us that what we know about sports aesthetics is largely the result of continual reification, the ever so slightly ‘off’ typeface naming the ‘team’ on this new FCRB x Nike Solar Soft Sandal proof that starting with a different vantage point, established sporty aesthetics can lead you in an entirely different direction.  The navy/neon and black/grey editions arrive exclusively at SOPH. locations throughout Japan as well as Isetan Shinjuku on June 23rd, so click through for more images and let us know if you’ll be importing a pair or two.  via EC
